Although the brand new PADI Open Water Course is due to be
released later in the year the IDC Gili Islands is getting the candidates
prepared early so the transition will not be too difficult. Many of our
previous candidates and many other PADI Instructor have been asking about the
new revised course, and what exactly the differences are. We are currently
running post IDC workshops explaining the core differences in the course
structure, running through changes in performance requirements, practicing new
added skills and reviewing the new Open Water Diver Course materials. Of course
our previous candidates are welcome to attend these sessions whenever possible.
If however you have train elsewhere or are not currently in the Gili Islands we
have prepares some online update information to help all instructors to make
the transition. If you’re interested in finding out about the core elements of
the changes that apply to the PADI Open Water Course check out the IDC Gili Islands Revised OWC summary.
There is also a brand new Project Aware presentation
available for optional inclusion within the PADI IDC Program, and of course we
here at our PADI Career Development Center we will be adding it to our
schedule. We believe that without the efforts of Project AWARE the ocean would
simply have no chance of survival and therefore intend to promote their efforts
in all of our recreational and professional PADI programs. The IDC presentation
is designed to arm PADI Instructors with the necessary tools to go out and act
as an Ambassador for the foundation; being their voice in the community that
matters the most. Again, our Platinum rated PADI Course Director will
incorporate the Project AWARE presentation into our IDC Program and will also
offer previous candidates the chance to attend. Again if for whatever reason
you are unable to attend or have trained with an alternative center that does
not off this additional presentation we have prepared some information
regarding the IDC Gili Islands ProjectAWARE Workshop.
Other workshops that have been devised by our PADI Course
Director are the C.V and Employment workshop whereby we plan and execute the
construction of a typical diving C.V and discuss opportunities available either
through our network of dive contact on the Gili Islands and beyond as well as
any positions available externally and found by the candidate. A careers
workshop will also accompany this, which runs through potential career
enhancement training opportunities and discuss any further training that may be
required for a particular position or location. For more information on the IDC Gili Islands please contact our
Platinum PADI Course Director.
