Meet Johan from Java, now a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor on the PADI IDC Indonesia with Multiple Award Winning Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod in the Gili Islands

Meet Johan who is from Java and has recently become a scuba diving instructor with the PADI IDC Gili Islands Program with Multiple Award Winning Triple Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod.

Johan is originally from Java and before discovering scuba diving he studied and worked in Jakarta for a national broadcasting TV station.

Looking for new experiences Johan chose to travel to Lombok to start his dive experience and quickly progressed from Open Water through the ranks to Divemaster level. As a certified DM Johan took his time gaining experience working in several locations for Lombok Dive. He has been based on Gili Trawangan for over a year and had been aiming to take his Instructor course but was worried that his level of English was not sufficient enough for the PADI exams and standards. After much discussion Johan decided to take a slower approach to the IDC that would give him the time he needed to understand the language used in the PADI teaching materials and to develop his teaching skills. It quickly became apparent that Johan is a natural teacher and his control and communication in water and in the classroom was outstanding. However he still chose to follow 2 IDC’s to ensure that his understanding of PADI standards was to the level required. With the support of our Indonesian Staff Instructor, Johan also mastered the dive theory and got fantastic scores at the PADI IE.

For other professional divers looking to overcome boundaries and become a highly skilled scuba diving instructor the PADI IDC Gili Indonesia offers the best possible training experience available within the diving industry.
